I Found a Dresser on the Sidewalk — Here’s How I Made It
I recently moved to New York City and, though I hate to admit it, so many of the stereotypes are true: My room is too small, everything is too expensive, and the hustle and bustle never, ever stops.
Trying to fit everything I own into said tiny room became a huge feat, and investing in more furniture was starting to look like the only option (one I was trying to avoid). So imagine my surprise when, as I was walking home one night with a friend, we saw someone putting out a nice-looking 3×3 drawer dresser that seemed to be the perfect size.
After a brief chat with the neighbor putting it out, some rough measurements, and more than a few trips back and forth to my apartment, we managed to lug the whole thing back to my house and up two flights of stairs in under an hour.
But this was only half of the adventure. I certainly didn’t want to add all of my clothes to a dresser freshly touched by New York street air (no offense), so I got to work
